Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First grade is a big year for our students. They’re becoming more confident readers, thinkers, and friends. To support their growth, we’re hoping to add a collection of meaningful read-aloud books that connect directly to the themes in our Open Court Reading curriculum, such as Be My Friend, Science Cycles, and Roots and Seeds.

These thoughtfully chosen books will deepen our students’ understanding of the topics we explore, spark thoughtful discussions, and help build critical vocabulary and comprehension skills.

With your support, we can create daily read-aloud experiences that not only support academic goals, but also nurture a lifelong love of reading. Your generosity will help our first graders learn, grow, and imagine together through the power of story.
