Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am looking to increase opportunities that allow my first graders to participate in extensive reading comprehension activities. While I often read to my students, being in first grade, for them to get the full effect of the reading, they need to listen to the story more than once. Given our day is always packed full, I typically do not have time to read the same story multiple times to the students. I have many ideas on how I can creatively incorporate online read alouds in conjunction with class read alouds, but my students need quality headphones.

Help me give my Title One first-grade students quality headphones that will increase their ability to participate in in-depth reading comprehension assignments, writing, and research in the classroom as well as online.

We can focus on actions to save the earth independently, with online read alouds. Students will learn how to conduct research using an online library and videos so they can write about new information. Additionally, they can listen to read alouds multiple times to better their comprehension if they all have functioning, quality headphones.
