My Project
My students love to practice reading, phonics, and math on their iPads. We have a variety of times throughout our school day that requires my students to use headphones. We have our Daily 5 time where my students have the opportunity to listen to stories on their iPad. They use apps on their iPad to practice phonics skills. They also record themselves reading a book so they need to listen to themselves when they are finished. In the afternoon my students work on their writing journals. They record themselves reading their journal entry and post it on Seesaw using their iPad. They like to listen to themselves before posting to make sure it is just what they want. Finally, in math, they use an app that has sound they need to hear while practicing math skills.
Headphones are a much-needed item in our daily routine.
When students accidentally damage a pair then they miss out on important parts of their day. We have tried to use the iPad in a low volume setting so they do not disturb others at their table, but it is not always successful. We could really use a few new headphones in our classroom to have as a backup if someone breaks a pair. Plus, the audio caddy will store the headphones for easy access.
