Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh My!- Letter Sounds are Everywhere!

My students need literacy exposure at all times in the classroom. These carpet squares provide flexible seating as well as letter manipulation and fun while the letter tubs will provide a fun way to learn sounds!

My Students

I teach in a Title 1 school. The majority of my students are from a low-income backgrounds. Every student in our school receives free breakfast and free lunch due to the overall poverty in our area. My students come from diverse educational and literacy experiences. For most of my students, my classroom provides their first educational experience.

Experiences in kindergarten provide the building blocks for a successful educational career!

Funding for tools in our school has been limited due to the impacts of Hurricane Irma. These students are eager to learn and ready to blossom into lifelong learners! I am searching to provide those tools for my students!

My Project

After losing our classroom carpet to Hurricane Irma, my students need a cozy way to sit and learn. These alphabet carpet squares can be used in a myriad of ways to not only promote literacy but provide a comfortable place to sit while learning.

Kindergartners cannot be expected to sit at a desk or table for any length of time!

They need to be able to move throughout the room during the day. Coupled with the alphabet tubs, my students will have instant center-based activities that will accommodate their need to move around while learning. These tools will add a bright, educational atmosphere to our classroom!
