My Students

My students are excited about learning!

Most come from low-income families where reading and other educational materials are luxury items.

Additionally, our class contains children from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Many come from homes where English is not spoken or not spoken fluently, some are in the foster care system, and some have physical and/or speech challenges to overcome. Fortunately, at this age, all students benefit greatly from experiences and touchable, movable manipulatives, so I try to provide these opportunities as much as possible. When you donate to our classroom, you are changing lives! Thank you!

My Project

Let’s get excited about learning!

Help me open the eyes of my students to how big and varied our world really is—This set of animal atlases has wonderful photographs and simple, inviting maps that detail the topography of various locations around the world, along with interesting, age-appropriate information about animals who call those places home.

My students have an extremely limited understanding of the world. This particular animal atlas does a fabulous job of showcasing the broad range of wildlife that exists on our planet—much, much more than cats, dogs, and fish. It also has kid-friendly maps with keys that include symbols for various land features—a wonderful way to reinforce map skills they may have missed in previous years in a natural, meaningful way.
