My Project
In first grade, we learn a great deal about the rich history of our great country. Students learn how the past shapes the world in which we live today. We cover a multitude of topics and people, such as: great American symbols, patriotic songs, Thomas Jefferson, westward expansion, Sacagawea, the American Frontier, Ruby Ridges, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington Carver, and President Roosevelt.
We would like to use rich picture books to help link literature to social studies. The picture books would be shared among the first grade team of teachers so that all of our students can benefit from the integration of literature and social studies.
This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT
