We are a close-knit, culturally-diverse, community school with just over 300 students, grades K-5. Many of our students come from a lower socioeconomic background.
I have the privilege of working with a remarkable group of learners.
These 5th graders are inquisitive, enthusiastic, and excited to learn about the world around them. All of my students bring a unique perspective to our classroom community, and are encouraged to learn new things and to take on new challenges.
My goal as a teacher is to create a safe, positive, student-centered learning environment for ALL that enter my classroom. My students have a wide range of academic abilities and learning styles, and I strive to provide them with meaningful learning experiences each and every day
My Project
Adding green screen technology, a microphone and a new LCD microscope will help create a more student-led learning environment in our classroom.
From science podcasts to digital storytelling, this new and engaging technology will be an incredible addition to our classroom.
With a green screen, the number of engaging activities are endless! Not only can my students use the green screen to retell stories as though they are IN the story, but through additional research and the use of an LCD microscope, the scientists in our classroom can present their findings "on air" -- with digital broadcasts and student podcasts alike.
Such technology will allow my students to bring their stories to life and offer an exciting opportunity to showcase their learning!
