This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It has been over 4 months since the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly ended physical schooling for many students including my district. As a teacher, I scrambled trying to come up with effective strategies to continue delivering new information to the students. Though I am unable to see my students, learning continues through many available online programs and applications.

Please help me get the technology I need to engage my students during Distance Learning to continue their education from home.

Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my school strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.

My group consists of 20 amazing students.

These students are just beginning their first experience with school in distance learning mode, with many years ahead of them. They are excited and eager to learn. I am a strong believer that "If you involve students in many different activities and experiences, eventually they will find something that they love and excel in."

My Project

When Covid-19 abruptly ended school in March, educators came up with various strategies to keep their students learning. We had limited instructional materials to keep the students engaged during Distance Learning. I used Google Classroom, Class Dojo, and Zoom to help engage my students but it was not the same as being in the classroom conducting LIVE lessons.

Having a Document Camera will allow me to demonstrate learning concepts, hold live ectures, and a way to visually explain information to my students and their families.

With the document camera, students will have a better experience with interactive lessons as they make observations while lessons are being demonstrated by the teacher. This device can also be used to scan notes, students' work, and upload onto Google Classroom or other online platforms for students to view at a later time. This document camera will enhance how I create and deliver lessons during these unprecedented times.
