Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach kindergarten at a Title I school where more than 50% of our students receive free or reduced-rate lunches and due to COVID-19 most of my students did not have the opportunity to attend preschool or daycare and this has been their first real school experience.

I would love to be able to create a welcoming and cozy learning environment for my new kindergarteners!

With these supplies, we will be able to prepare for our back to school needs. There will be items such as pop its, brain flakes, and kinetic sand to help us with our fine motor skills, diverse books to add to our library to reinforce rules and routines, lamps and lights to create a home like setting, an instant camera to take pictures and make projects that can be sent home that day, and a standing fan to keep us cool when the a/c is broken at school (which happens frequently in our old building).
