My students need two mini flip digital camcorders.
FULLY FUNDED! Dr. Harnish's classroom raised $452
This project is fully funded
When I was a student I never was able to use my creativity in classes other than Art. Hello and thank you for reading my post. I am a sixth and seventh grade Social Studies teacher. I teach in a unique school, which combines students from urban, suburban and rural communities with differing economic status. They all have one thing in common however they lack the ability to creatively use technology in the classroom.
I am facing what every teacher is facing, a lack of funds from my school to obtain what I need. I wish to help my students receive the type of education where every child's unique ability can be expressed.
I would like to have two mini camcorders to start my student's directing, acting, editing, and producing careers. Students will use these camcorders for a number of activities. They will recreate historical events and produce their own films. They will interview parents and grandparents to investigate who they are and where they come from. They will create talk shows where one student takes on the persona of a historical figure who has shown up on the "Tonight Show" to be interviewed. These are just a few of the lessons I have planned.
With your help I will be able to achieve for my students what I wanted as a student; a fun creative outlet which used my talents and abilities. Could something like this have "lit the fire" of my interest in other subjects? I will never know, but with your help we will make it happen for my students. I thank you for your time.
