Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is an Internationale Baccalaureate school in Georgia. As part of the IB curriculum, students must be actively engaged learners through inquiry-based and project-based instruction.
Students at our elementary school are knowledgeable, inquirers, communicators, risk-takers, caring, open-minded, reflective, and principled.
Something these students all have in common is that they are constantly moving - going from working independently, to working with partners and small groups to be true owners of their learning. Students use these skills daily when interacting with teachers, peers, and the community. They use these skills to enhance and deepen their learning. Our students care about one another and are eager to learn about the world around them.
My Project
The items requested for this project - laptop, a professional-quality camera with accessories, and microphone - will augment the existing equipment we already have. This new equipment will allow students to showcase their learning through creative avenues such as video production, allow the school to video special programs for parents unable to attend, allow classrooms to interact with experts outside the school through virtual presentations, and to produce a higher quality and more interactive broadcast of our daily announcements and presentations to the school community. It will provide real-life A/V experiences for students.
