My Students

Our school is a pre-k through fifth grade school located in Alabama. It is a Title 1 school where the majority of the students qualify for free/reduced lunch program. There is also a large ESL population due to our close proximity to the college.

Our students are world-class learners that are striving to become confident with multiple types of media.

Recently, I attended a training that taught me how to incorporate video production in the classroom. Our students love technology and this will provide another avenue for teaching skills in a fun and innovative way!

My Project

I recently attended a video creation camp. During this camp, we were taught how to make and edit videos with our students. The students were 100% engaged and excited about learning video production. Once funded, we will have two full sets of equipment that can be used by students and teachers to create videos.

These videos will be written, filmed, and edited completely by students!

Students can use the videos created to demonstrate knowledge to their teachers and fellow students. The video production process will teach children valuable real-world skills such as the research process, sequencing, interviewing, asking and answering questions, editing and revision.
