My Students

Our scholars are a phenomenal group of kids from highly diverse backgrounds. Our socioeconomic diversity allows us to bring together students from various communities throughout our city to create a unique, collaborative environment. Whether they come from one of the three homeless shelters in our attendance zone or a sky-rise condo, our scholars enter our school excited and eager to learn. A typical day in our school is filled with creativity, passion, and energy!

Our students LOVE to get creative!

Giving them an outlet that they may not see anywhere else is a wonderful part of my job as an educator. Through our AMAZING Performing Arts Department, our scholars participate in plays and skits that they help to write, produce, and ultimately perform for our entire school community and stakeholders.

My Project

As educators, we seek to expose our scholars to the larger community around them. It is with this understanding that we must be intentional about exposing our students and their families to the arts.

Our school is home to many talented, creative teachers and students.

These costumes will allow our staff to excite our scholars with creative, innovative, engaging lessons. From the Cat in the Hat, to Willy Wonka, to the Genie, these costumes will generate excitement for reading and the performing arts. They will also allow our middle school scholars to explore their creativity as they write, produce, and perform various shows for our school community - including our 2018 production of Aladdin, Jr!
