Lights! Camera! Action! Our News Team Needs New Equipment

Help me give my students the opportunity to create a weekly morning news broadcast. We need a green screen, lighting and microphones for our weekly news program.

My Students

We live in a small coastal community in South Carolina. My school serves a very diverse population of students in prekindergarten through third grade. My students come from many different backgrounds and have different learning styles. They enjoy hands-on learning experiences, and they are joyful when given the chance to work with technology.

My students are eager, enthusiastic learners who embrace opportunities to learn new things and to share what they have learned with others.

They are passionate about sharing information with others. In August, we began creating a weekly news program for our school. My students are so excited to help with the program that they come in during their recess and free time to write and film segments.

My Project

We began this semester with the an iPad for filming and a MacBook for editing our news program. It's time to upgrade our video production. We need microphones, lighting and a backdrop to create a better finished product each week.

I began this school year with the goal of working with students to create a weekly news program for our school that would spotlight the programs and events that are happening within our building and that would also give our students a voice and an opportunity to shine.

My students have brought unbelievable enthusiasm to our broadcast. It is a wonderful experience for the students who create the program as well as the students who watch it each week. Please consider donating to these talented students of mine!
