No student wants to learn in a stale environment. I’m working hard to keep our middle school students engaged with classroom-themed transformations and a fun real-life experience. I want to make every effort to get students excited about learning mathematics. A movie-theme transformation will instantly pique the students’ interest. The students will be using their problem-solving skills to solve real-life mathematical problems that relate to mathematic concepts covered in the 7th grade curriculum that align with the movie theme. The table clothes with be used to cover the classroom desks and tables the students will be using as workstations. The décor will help create an authentic environment that will motivate students to engage while, reinforcing and reviewing math concepts and skills. Students will snack on popcorn when engaged in the task and exhibiting our four school character traits: community, leadership, collaboration, and perseverance.
