Our school is a brand new charter school which opened its doors just this September.

We provide an amazing and challenging, well rounded and academically leveled education . Our students are incredible! They are intelligent, well mannered, bright, excited about the world around them and very tech savvy. Our students are also very curious and anxious to learn. Since our school is so new, we are continuing to get supplies but it takes a little time, and the supplies tend to be just the basics. It would be so wonderful to have the technology to go along with those supplies to help these students learn.

My Project

Because our school just opened it's doors in September, we were only able to begin class with the bare minimum. We had desks, pencils, paper and lots of smiles. We were just so happy to be back to school and learning. We would be even happier if we were able to have a projector, a document camera and a cart . This way, everyone could be engaged in the lessons more actively. One huge benefit for all children that a document camera offers is that everyone can see and hear the problem or assignment at the same time. Two senses are involved, and the poor teacher (me) will not have to waste time going over and over the same problem; more learning can occur. The document camera and projector will be used in our class for our study of various cultures and customs. Dances and the Arts will be recorded and replayed. Science experiments will take on a whole new dimension and excitement. It will be such an amazing tool for our classroom to have.

Technology motivates students.

It excites students and allows them to use and experience more of their senses. Our struggling readers and future Einsteins' will be able to stay on task simply because they will be able to see the board better! We will be able to do our science experiments and see the details involved! It would be amazing!! In a world as immersed in technology as our society is, our students deserve to have the same opportunities as other schools. Thank you.
