Our school is very rural and is in a low income area. The students have limited opportunities for experiences outside our community. Therefore, we create new opportunities here.
The students are eager to learn and love trying new things.
People have volunteered to lead an after school dance club, and a garden club is about to be formed. These additional experiences can greatly add to the students background knowledge and expand their areas of interest. Many students have expressed interest in creating short films.
My Project
Movies and short films can be a wonderful way to add meaning and peak interest in many different subject areas. Imagine if you could make the movies yourself! That is my wish for the students in my class.
In the past, We have collaboratively written a script and created special effects for a movie called "LEGO People Meet the Aliens".
Unfortunately, the only thing we had to film with was my iPhone. Needless to say, I was reluctant to allow the students unrestricted use of my phone.
I have chosen a GO Pro camera, stand, case and Cyberlink PowerDirector software because it is easy to use and extremely versatile.
With this requested support, my students will be able to take charge of their projects and really show their star power.
