This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Harrison High School will be starting an online and print newspaper to build student skills and interest in journalistic writing and reporting. With a focus on media literacy and ethics, we will take these students to the next level in producing solid, honest, and high-quality school-related content for their community.
With your help, our students will be able to use a high-quality camera and microphone to capture content that is interesting and newsworthy!
We are just starting this program, so any equipment we get will immediately be put to good use. Students will learn about all aspects of photojournalism, photography, and interviewing.
While your donation will specifically benefit the 40+ students who will be staffing the newspaper and online publication, it will ultimately benefit the 1100 students in our school, and the greater community of Colorado Springs.
