My Project
Before the pandemic hit, our class ran a coffee shop called Lightning Bean Coffee. This practiced so many skills and meant so much to my students and school community.
I want to reopen our coffee shop to provide my students the opportunity to work on and show off their skills!
My students will brew coffee, prepare orders, deliver orders, run the cash register, and restock items. This allows them to practice so many essential skills such as reading a ticketed order and fulfilling it correctly which works on decoding, comprehension, counting sugar packets, measuring coffee creamer. Students will count and sort money which works on functional math skills. When delivering the coffee orders, my students will greet their customers and engage in conversation working on their social skills.
My students found so much pride in their work. Help me bring this learning experience back to our school!
