Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We believe every student deserves to be recognized for their hard work, leadership, and positive choices. Our school’s PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) plan helps us build a safe and supportive environment where students are encouraged to “LEAD”—Live responsibly, Engage respectfully, Act safely, and Demonstrate kindness.
To highlight these efforts, we want to proudly display our Student of the Month honorees for the entire school to see in a beautiful, enclosed bulletin board.
Monthly, our teachers and staff select students who model the 7 Habits of Leadership and our schoolwide expectations. By funding an enclosed, lockable bulletin display case, we’ll create a long-lasting and professional space to showcase student posters, leadership quotes, and class achievements all year long.
This new display will be placed in a central location where hundreds of students, families, and visitors pass by each day. The clear glass and sturdy design will protect student work from the elements while making sure every honoree’s picture and accomplishments shine brightly.
Our Leaders, student members of our PBIS and Student Lighthouse teams, will take pride in maintaining the display each month. These student leaders will help update photos, arrange posters, and add new recognition cards as honorees are announced. They’ll also be responsible for keeping the case neat and welcoming, ensuring every Student of the Month is honored with care and creativity. By taking ownership of the upkeep, our Lynx Leaders learn responsibility, teamwork, and pride in showcasing their school community.
Beyond recognition, this display serves a deeper purpose: to inspire all students to strive for excellence and kindness. When students see their peers celebrated for leadership, effort, and positive behavior, they are motivated to do the same. It also gives families a moment of pride as they see their child’s photo displayed as a model Lynx Leader.
