I am a kindergarten teacher with 25 students who are sponges for knowledge. I found a trip that helps students learn how people lit their homes and businesses before electricity. Each student makes his or her own candle to take home and see demonstrations of a variety of early lighting devices. A visit to two historic buildings illuminates the use of lighting in the context of daily life. This will also teach the children the concept of needs and wants. Unfortunately, trips can be very expensive for some of the low income families in my class. Please assist in making the children\'s experiences illuminating ones. Thank you for all your assistance.
