Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a special education preschool teacher, and my students all have a variety of sensory needs. Many of my students are sensory seekers and need sensory input and sensory play to regulate their emotions and body.
Each day we spend time focusing on coping skills in my classroom, and a portion of our coping skill time is focused on sensory strategies and sensory play.
Our classroom has a wonderful water and sand table that my students love playing at, but I would like to be able to provide them with a wider variety of sensory play experiences.
With this project I am hoping to add a light table and toys for it to my collection of sensory items for my students to better meet their sensory needs.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
