My Students

My students are full of wonder and curiosity. They are constantly exploring the world around them and learning new things every day. Pre-k is all about hands on learning and my students love to dig in with all their five senses.

My students come from all different types of backgrounds and cultures.

Many of them have little or no experience with the world around them. Their parents have limited resources and are unable to buy them the educational toys to help them progress and succeed. Their main experience comes from my classroom and the trips I take them on.

Even after 17 years of teaching it still amazes me as I watch them grow and learn. Pre-k students have an amazing ability to soak in information. The growth in their maturity and learning is so rapid. The more we expose them to, the more they grow. The metamorphosis through out the year is absolutely the most incredible sight I have ever seen.

My Project

Pre-k is a very exciting time for my students. For many children Pre-k is their first experience with school life. The first year of school sets the tone for their school experience for many years. It is during this year that the foundation of their educational success is set.

Light up our lives and minds with the materials we need to further our educational experience.

The students will learn how light travels through certain materials. They will see how the light bends to create rainbows. They will learn how shadows are formed ,and they will use the light panel to explore numbers and shapes.

My students learn best through hands on experience. they will manipulate the different materials to gain knowledge. They will better retain that knowledge through touching, seeing and making new discoveries with their new light panel and materials.
