My Project

In our classroom, lighting isn’t just about visibility—it’s about setting the tone for focus, creativity, and connection. Students spend on average 8 hours per day in the classroom - that's nearly 1,400 hours in school each year. My students will spend nearly 150 of those hours in my classroom. That's a lot of time to be looking at basic, white walls.

This project will transform our learning space into a warm, inviting environment that helps students feel safe, calm, and ready to engage.

Materials like the string lights, science-themed wall decor, neon “Think Outside the Box” sign, and batty decor items will give our classroom a personality to match my students. These thoughtful touches create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages focus, creativity, and a love of learning. Framed displays showcasing student work and scientist spotlights will cultivate a sense of pride and allow students to see themselves among great thinkers!

Every light, poster, and decoration is carefully chosen to celebrate the joy and wonder of science while fostering an environment where students feel valued and motivated. By blending aesthetics with function, this space will nurture curiosity, promote positive energy, and help students not only shine in their learning but truly thrive throughout the year.
