Concerns about money, warm clothing, or their next meal: these are things children shouldn't have to worry about, yet my students face these issues daily and still come to school excited to learn and create! Our school is a high-poverty, Title I School, with an Economic Need Index of 82.5%.
Artistic expression is a universal language.
Half of my students are new to this country and are working hard to learn a new language. In my art classes, I try to create opportunities for my students to be successful during that process!
I am consistently amazed by their innovative ideas. Given the right resources, there is no telling what my students can accomplish.
My Project
My visual arts students will use these light panels for a variety of projects throughout the school year. One project that I know my students will love is to use the light panels to assist with self-portraits.
Using a Light panel to create and experiment with art is a great way to build the confidence of young developing artists!
Since there is no art-room for my elementary art students, these light weight LED panels will be extremely useful and easy to transport as I travel from room to room with a cart. Please help me to make this project become a reality.
