I work at a public arts school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My class is part of a program called high-5. Being a preK class in a public arts-based elementary school, I focus on project-based art and having students share their emotions through many creative outlets. My school is fully in person this school year. My school has over 90% who receive free and reduced lunch.
My Project
My students would love to have a light table to explore color, shapes, and tracing. I know we can use a light table in many different ways! We will be able to build with see though magna-tiles, and make patterns. Explore color mixing. Look at x-ray body parts and talk about our bones! Trace letters, and pictures. Place paper on and play with watercolors, tissue paper, and other art material in the light! A light table is fun and engaging and will give students a new way to explore the world!
