My students need Kindle Fires for reading and math practice as well as doing research and taking practice tests.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Mebane's classroom raised $720

My Students
I teach in an inner-city school system . 100% of the students are African American and over 90% are on free or reduced lunch. We are a title 1 school. Most of the time I have very little parent involvement and in some cases never meet the parents of my students. Most of the students come from single-parent households. Many of my students, even though in third grade read way below grade level. Many of them are not diagnosed but are HDHD or have a learning disability that is not identified. There are also some that have emotional or behavioral issues that go unidentified.
My Project
Many of my students are struggling and need extra practice in reading and math. Kindle Fire tablets provide a fun but educational way to practice the extremely important skills they need to succeed in school/life! Please help me provide as many opportunities as possible for my students to succeed! Students can play educational games on apps such as ABC MOUSE, Starfall, and Learning Farm. They can take tests on books they’ve read on Accelerated Reader. They can do research on topics that interest them on Google. These are all skills that will help them with standardized test-taking skills as well as reading comprehension and math computation.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
