My Students

I have a very diverse group of special needs students that range from Kindergarten to third grade. I am very excited to get to know each of my students and learn how I can best help them make progress on their IEP goals while providing motivating and engaging lessons and activities. Some of my students are medically fragile coupled with visual impairments which I am researching ways to be able to engage them through remote learning. I am looking forward to having a great year!

My Project

Many of my students have visual impairments and need the use of lights to help them learn. I am seeking materials to create individual light boxes for my students. These boxes can be utilized on the floor or on student's wheelchairs. Using translucent materials students will benefit from have lighted tactile learning experiences. We can utilize a variety of manipulatives including shapes, letters, and more! My students will love interacting with these homemade light boxes. I also love that they are durable enough to withstand being dropped or pushed off a wheelchair! Thanks so much for ensuring my learners have the tools they need to be successful!
