Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I service students in small reading intervention groups. Many of my students have learning disabilities, such as, Dyslexia and ADHD. Research indicates that up to 30% of individuals who have these conditions also suffer from a visual processing problem (Irlen Syndrome) that causes a variety of symptoms from visual distortions that make academic work more challenging to physical symptoms like headaches, migraines, strain and fatigue. Certain environments, such as bright and fluorescent lighting, can make these symptoms worse.

By donating to this light filter project, you will help my students have the healthiest possible learning environment.

The ceiling light covers will create a calming and soothing space, it will encourage students to relax and get to a regulated state that's ready to learn.
