Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since students went through the lockdown we have seen them become more and more sedentary and less likely to enjoy basic forms of exercise. Here at my school in the physical education department we are trying to find more and more ways to get students active and interested in physical activity. Not only for this year, but so that they can continue these skills in their life to live a happy healthy life!
This school year we have started implementing more weight lifting options to students as they are very interested and excited to participate.
In our area, the gym Planet Fitness offers free gym memberships to students in the summer. We want to teach students that there is more to the gym than doing cardiovascular exercise. That is why I am asking for help in getting the funds to purchase these Olympic curling bars, as students are very interested about doing curls!
Our students are excited about exercising and being active and we will do what it takes to get off of the couch and get more active. These are skills that they can use the rest of their lives! Thank you for your time and consideration in helping out our students here at Carson Junior High School!
