Lift Off! Rocket Into the New Year

Help me give my students bike pumps and altitude finders for launching and measuring rocket motion.

My Students

My students are creative and talented students who are passionate about the arts. As a teacher I aim to use that passion to help them understand and discover the world through science.

All of my students seek to understand the world on a deeper level to be able to translate that understanding into their art.

We will be conducting hands-on investigations inside and outside of the classroom. The students will be learning how to ask questions, observe changes, analyze their observations, find patterns, evaluate and reflect on the results.

My Project

This year, we are further integrating space science into the curriculum by building and launching water bottle rockets. The bike pumps will serve to build pressure for lift off. But we aren't just launching rockets, students will make measurements of distance using the altitude finder in order to help calculate the speed, acceleration, and force.

By donating to this project, you will be giving students hands-on opportunities to learn about the forces and motion in space travel.

These physics students crave tactile experiences relevant to the world around them. As the Mars 2020 mission nears, students will connect to the mission through understanding the physics surrounding rocketry.
