Lift Every Voice and Sing...into a New Microphone!

My students need a high-quality sound system with a reliable microphone for our concerts.

My Students

Our school is located in a densely-populated urban area. Most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. We are one of the only schools in the city to provide free, public, single-sex education. Because of this, many of my students travel very far by public transportation to attend the school.

My students inspire me daily with their eagerness to learn.

They love to sing, move, and learn everything they can. They enjoy discovering music from around the world and in many different genres. I want to provide them with an outstanding music education, and that includes having high-quality materials to support my instruction.

My Project

Imagine: You're at your child's choir concert, a group of uniformed scholars on the stage, singing together in beautiful harmony. The group has clearly worked hard, and they sound great. The soloist steps to center stage, takes a breath, opens her mouth... and you can't hear a thing! The old microphone just doesn't work! That is exactly what happened to us at our last concert.

If this project is funded quickly, we can use these speakers at our next concert at the end of March!

We have some really wonderful singers who deserve to have their voices heard...all the way in the back row!

My students' beautiful voices need a new, reliable microphone to reach the audience members at the back of our auditorium. There are times when we can "belt it out," but I want to encourage them to use their light head voices so as not to injure themselves. That kind of singing needs amplification so the audience can hear. Please consider helping us reach our goal.
