This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
If you've ever spent a lot of time in a Primary classroom - you know how important the easel area is! The easel I have currently is old, broken and much too small to hold big books.
My students attend a Title 1 school in a suburban area.
We have great kids from many cultural backgrounds. They are eager to learn, and love to go to school. Sometimes funds get tight and classroom materials are used until they are destroyed. It would be nice to have a fresh, new easel to begin the new year.
My Project
I'm requesting a literacy easel that would be where I would do the majority of my teaching. It would hold supplies like big books, markers and other resources. It is large enough that the whole class would be able to see it easily - yet it's compact enough to fit into my classroom comfortably.
This easel would be the center of our day from morning message, big book stories, shared writing and games.
It would become the foundational piece of furniture in my room for my students and I.
