My Students
We are a school family! My motto is firm, fair, and friendly. We laugh together and learn together. This year I am departmentalized, and I teach reading/language arts and social studies to two second grade classes who love using our classroom library!
I have a very academically diverse group of students in each class.
Gifted students and students with learning disabilities combined make up more than half of my students this school year. Everyone is accepted, and we work together as a learning community to help each other.
My Project
Our classroom library is used every day, all day! My students are constantly reading. They read in the classroom when they finish their work, in the hallway while waiting in line, and some even take a book to recess to lie in the grass and read. I absolutely love that my kids truly enjoy getting lost in books! But because we use our books such a tremendous amount, many of them need to be replaced. We also need to add additional chapter books.
The donation of these books will greatly impact all of my students.
The students' love of reading will be magnified by replacing the old, worn books and adding new, exciting chapter books. My goal is to create lifelong readers who continue to enjoy reading as adults.
