My Students

We need you! The first grade technology is ready for an upgrade. As we try to make our lessons more meaningful for the children, we have noticed that our technology is outdated. As first graders learn to read, we want to make their use of resources exciting and accessible through technology.

My amazing First Grade class consists of students of diverse abilities.

They are extremely curious and eager to learn new things. Our school community encourages acceptance and inclusion of children regardless of their abilities and learning styles. Being a first grader is an exciting time in a child's life as they learn to read and acquire so many new skills. Reading is such an integral part of a persons academic carrier. Our goal is to ensure reading success and growth. Today, children are exposed to so much technology. Being able to teach reading with the use of technology is an easy way to engage all kids. It is also an effective way to reach students with different learning styles. As a teacher my goal is to use as many different tools to reach all children and to make sure all kids are engaged. Student success is our top priority!

My Project

With the assistance of a classroom iPad I hope to use educational resources to facilitate reading literacy, fluency and most importantly, a love for reading. With the use of the iPad I intend to work one-on-one with children to provide reading intervention, direct instruction, and enrichment. I also hope to use the resource in small groups to encourage reading development. At times, we will be able to use the iPad in whole group reading instruction with the use of our classroom projector.

Contributions to this project would help to provide so many more reading opportunities for my amazing first grade class.

I strongly believe that teachers can and should reach children using various teaching styles and modalities. Having a classroom iPad would reinforce my beliefs and enhance my teaching style.
