This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Life Skills classroom serves 6th–12th grade students with disabilities who are learning to become independent, responsible, and self-sufficient. What makes my students special is their strength, their persistence, and their need for hands-on, real-world learning opportunities.

This project will help us create a classroom economy where students earn money through jobs like cleaning, organizing, and assisting peers.

With that money, they’ll learn to budget and make purchases from our classroom store. It’s a fun and practical way to teach essential financial literacy skills.

The items I’m requesting—rewards, storage bins, visuals, and job tools—will bring this project to life. Your support will help students build responsibility, make choices, and develop confidence in skills they’ll need far beyond school.
