Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students with Autism are part of a school community of approximately 1,400 who attend school eager to learn. They enjoy learning vocational, social, motor, and academic skills daily. My students are inquisitive, passionate, eager, and motivated to learn independently.
My Project
A task box is a container – that contains all of the materials needed to teach a child a task and/or skill. Individuals with autism tend to be visual learners who thrive on routine and order.
Task boxes offer an effective strategy to teach and build upon important life skills.
This is a structured teaching model which enables students with Autism to understand a learning activity and work independently.
These containers will assist my students in utilizing these materials effectively. The box will contain and house various life skills activities for students to work independently and achieve success in their academics and vocational training.
