This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m so grateful to be able to request snacks for my students. As it is not a requirement for them to have a snack, they tell me they are hungry all the time, I couldn’t bare to hear that. They aren’t worried about learning when they are hungry! Low income area/families - I couldn’t ask them to provide and half some students bring a snack and others not, but it is starting to add up in my pocket and this just means the world to me to be able to feed them a little something everyday!

I am also looking forward to using the Social Emotional Learning Activity to assist my life skills special education classroom to manage their feelings and emotions.

We work, daily, on identifying our emotions and others emotions and how to respond to these emotions. I have reached out to Home Depot as another resource to help use with STEM activities. Once a month, I can pick up project kits to do with my students during center time. It would be awesome to be able to have more STEM/life skills activities for my students. During ELA centers, we work on sight words and trying to learn how to read and write these words. I appreciate this site tremendously and the people involved (the donations). Without you guys, some things wouldn't be possible to provide for my students. Thank you everyone!
