Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have been a Special Educator for 29 years. Each student I teach are unique in their own way. They each have an individual personality, that helps them define who they really are. They are always ready to learn and love to come to school. I have some student's who are really artistic. They love to draw, paint, and color. I have some student's who are very technologically efficient. They love working on the classroom computers. They particularly like the program "Starfall, Pbs Kids, and "Brainpop". I have several student's that go into the General Education setting, and participate in the General Education Curriculum.
The thing I love the most about my student's is that they teach me something new about themselves every day.
Some of them like to cook. They tell me all about their family. I have some student's who also ask about my family such as, "Do you have Netflix at home?" Does your television have wi - fi? They are very inquisitive and love to come to school.
My Project
Headphones will help my student's with Special Needs to be included and participate in all General Education activities that have emphasis on technology. I would like to see them have all the same opportunities as their General Education Peers. It will prepare them for Life inside and outside of the classroom.
Calculators will give my student's the opportunity to practice one of Life's greatest skills, how to save and spend money.
It will teach them how to go shopping for important items, without going over their budget. Something we all continue to learn.
