Life Outside My Hospital Room!

My Students

I am a Home and Hospital Educator with our district's Home and Hospital program. I work with students who are unable to attend school due to a medical or mental health needs. I am committed providing students a flexible and motivational educational experience to serve as a bridge between, home, hospital, and school. Many of our students and their families are going through a life changing time in their life, a sense of purpose, belonging, and normalcy to their school and peers is essential.

My Project

My students are receiving their education through a virtual model at this time due to our current Covid pandemic status. I am hoping to be back to providing in-person instruction at the home or hospital setting soon. I support our student's social and emotional needs while also providing educational support for their classes via a virtual platform while they are dealing with their extensive medical issues such as cancer, surgery recovery, etc.. The iPad will allow the students to be able to connect with their classes and peers while they are out on medical leave and the virtual headset will allow some fun ways to relieve the stress; all from the comfort of their home or hospital bed. My students can vary from Early Childhood to 12th grade so the iPad and Virtual Headset can be used for all ages. Let's help these students gain real-time access to their class, peers and help support them on a social and emotional level with some virtual fun!
