Help me give my students headphones, books on Planet Mars, and a model of the solar system to help us study and share what it would be like to live on life on Mars.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The books about Mars and space exploration, headphones for virtual tours and watching programs like, "Girl on a Mission to Mars", along with chart paper for whole group discussions and planning will engage my students as they answer the quesion, What if you were the first kid to live on Mars?" Knowing my students' level of intrigue, this question will encourage a variety of ideas and more questions. The books and planet models from this project will help students research Mars and space exploration, allow students to engage in virtual field trips, and more! By utilizing virtual field trips provided by the Kennedy Space Center and the learning materials found through their program, the students in my class will be immersed in information and ideas that will take them to space and back.
