This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When I was younger, I lived in the library and read books directed toward my age group. Later on, I grew to love and appreciate classic literature. This would not have happened if I didn't have access to a library in my school and books that I was truly interested in. In the school I am teaching, there are a variety of backgrounds in my classroom. They have access to technology but do not have a library they can visit regularly.

The books that are donated to this project will create a love of reading all types of literature, starting with literature they can relate to.

My students become more engaged in reading when they are able to make a choice about what they are reading and they relate to it.
