My Students

My students are in pre-k through 5th grade in Baltimore, Maryland. Many of my students come from low-income families, which can lead to an achievement gap and poor language and literacy skills. All of the students that I work with receive some type of special education.

My students love learning!

In the speech and language room, we work on skills that will help these students better participate and communicate in their classrooms and we have a lot of fun doing it!

My Project

The American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) annual convention is the largest professional development and networking opportunity for speech language pathologists. By attending this conference, my students will benefit from therapy that is informed by the current research and practices. Students will also benefit from the new products and resources I will learn about at the conference. The knowledge I obtain from attending this conference will improve learning outcomes for my students.

I hope to learn about the latest research, expand my clinical skills and techniques, find new products and resources, and network with colleagues.

I believe this professional development opportunity will greatly enrich my learning so that I can best support my learners! I will be able to immediately apply the information I learn from this conference to my work with my students.
