Life Long Learning is for Teachers Too!

I need to attend the National Science Teachers Regional Convention to enhance my teaching and encourage students to Dig Deeper in alignment with NGSS standards.

My Students

My students are inquisitive and eager to learn. They ask lots of questions! They not only want to know how, but why they are learning the concepts in class. They want to know how concepts apply to the real world. The school has a diverse population of approximately 1300 middle school students. The students have varying backgrounds and learning abilities, but in science class, they are able to find a common ground and passion for learning. They work as a team to learn and teach each other in the classroom, and everyone is treated fairly and without prejudice.

My Project

I love talking with teachers about what they are doing in their classrooms. It is always inspiring and gives me new ideas of how to make the learning environment better for my students. I want my students to leave my classroom loving science and yearning for more.

The NSTA conference will allow me to learn from amazing teachers who are making science education a storytelling experience for their students.

Learning from my peers will allow me to better navigate the Next Generation Science standards and better facilitate the education of my students. I also look forward to returning to my school and sharing these experiences with the teachers in my building.
