This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Wobble, wobble.. Shake it, shake it." My 21 kinders are a fidgety and curious bunch of eager learners. They come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of life experiences. Many of them receive free or reduced lunch which is based on their family's low income. Most of my little guys are excited to be involved and love making choices to contribute to our classroom environment. They like exploring and doing things, such as working on projects, experimenting, buddy reading, and working with others.
My Project
My 21 students are an active bunch who need options to create their own comfort. Having all students sit in standard classroom chairs has proven to be more of a hinderance than a necessity.
The purpose of this project is to provide a variety of seating options that meet my students' individual needs while offering them a sense of responsibility.
With a selection of scoop rockers, wobble stools, and knee cushions, my kinders will be motivated to actively engage in their learning. By having the opportunity to make a choice, they will feel empowered.
In my classroom, my students are learning to be independent and in charge of making choices that work for them. We can help foster this independence by providing my kindergarteners with a range of functional and comfortable seating.
