My students need Clorox wipes to keep the germs away. Kleenex for their runny noses. Chapstick for their dry winter lips. And snacks to keep their tummies full.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning we start our day with breakfast in the classroom. It is important that my students get the nutrients they need to focus on their learning throughout the year. This part of the day is crucial because many of my students don't eat at home.
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood located in Arizona.
Our class has been blessed with 24 students from different parts of the world and whose first language is not English. We are a family that works towards the same goal, finding ways of learning that works best for us and never giving up.
My Project
My students will benefit from the healthy snacks during our afternoon snack time we try to have each day. Asking families for snacks is not an option because they are not financially able to provide snacks for the whole class. I often find myself using my own money to buy my students snacks so that they can have a full tummy before they leave school for the day. We will also use the Clorox wipes to keep our class germ free and the Kleenex to help our runny noses when those germs find our way into our immune system. Last but not least, since we live in Arizona, we find that our lips get super dry and chapped in the winter. We will each get our own chapstick to keep in our cubbies to help our lips from drying out.
With your help my students will get the basic life essentials they need to have an environment that is crucial for learning.
My students will receive items that they would not get if it wasn't for the generosity of others like you.
