My students need snacks in order to do well on the upcoming SBAC test. Help us do our best by having a snack for each day of our testing week.

My Students
The 5th graders come from diverse backgrounds. My classroom consists of Asian, Latino, and African American students. They have been attending school as a cohort since kindergarten so school is home - we are a family. Our school is located in a quiet neighborhood where students walk, drive, or get bussed to the community.
My students demonstrate a growth mindset academically and socially.
They are learning how to navigate the ups and downs of being almost teenagers. Learning and going to college is a priority for them. For most of my students, they will be the first ones to attend college so graduation is very important to their families.
My Project
Can you imagine taking an important test on an empty stomach? My students have been preparing to take the SBAC test all year and we recently found out that we don't have any funding for snacks. It is so important for my students to feel their basic needs are met before taking a test. The snacks will help students stay focused on their learning rather than feeling hungry. It is one less thing they will need to worry about during those weeks. Food, water, and a warm environment will be provided for them. Demonstrating growth on the test will help my students feel successful and ready for middle school.
