I informed my students that we would be learning about things that grow for our next unit. I let them know that we would learn about gardens and things that we would find in gardens.
My inquisitive learners asked specifically if we could plant watermelon seeds and grow butterflies.
I want to provide my students with this experience especially since they had this request. When children share their requests it makes teaching easier because they are personally invested into their own learning.
I am excited to be able to provide my students with the books, insects, and seeds that will help them learn about life cycles.
