Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are developing bilinguals in a dual language school, learning both English and Spanish. Many of them already have a love for reading, and I hope to nurture that passion by providing engaging texts in both languages that will inspire them to become lifelong readers.
By growing our school program library, we aim to strengthen students’ reading skills, build comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and word knowledge.
With access to a diverse collection of new titles, students will have the opportunity to choose books that interest them and participate in rich discussions during book clubs and reading conferences. These books will also be available for students to take home, allowing them to enjoy reading at their own pace and share the experience with their families.
