This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to add books about grandparents in both Spanish and English to our school library's collection. I am also requesting clear labels for processing the books to get them ready to be checked out.
These books will allow students who read in English or Spanish to read picture books about grandparents!
I think my students will really enjoy reading books about two of their favorite people- Grandma and Grandpa!
Our school library had been neglected for many years. Most of the books in the library were 20-plus years old. My goal for the coming year is to have a collection of 8,000 books for our 700 students. I also want to drop the average age of the books to 10 years. Having a full and updated library collection will inspire more students to check out and read books.
